Delicious....a taste of confusion, possibility, and misleading details!

After some use of the product Delicious, to delve into the concepts of social tagging, I have to admit I am not a fan. I found more opportunities of misleading or misguided data tags than I did information that was functional or accurate.  While I understand that this gets to the very heart of the internet and some of the hazards related to such searches, I can not convince myself of the functionality of the site at all. I do not anticipate using it on a regular basis at all!

Overall, Delicious has left a bad taste in my mouth....

Images...here, there, and everywhere!

A favorite photo of mine, taken in Mexico as I looked upon the oldest known observatory in existance. I find it rather fitting as I contemplate the best use of image sharing via blog, embedded as you see above, or via shared link to other sites such as flickr (also listed above via shared link).
There are pros and cons to both methodology. I think in making the decision it is important for blog writers to take into consideration their audience! I know that I much prefer to see the intended view at face value rather than having to click from one link to another to get the full message intended by an author. I would expect similiar response from other users, but I realize that system limitations and connectivity can also drive the answer to this complex question.
Taking the variables into consideration is a crucial concept in setting the best possible environment for your audience!

Feeding Frenzy!

Truly the frenzy of feeds and RSS based content has caught on in the business world (among other places).  As both a student and employee for the University of Toledo, I receive a daily feed of news specific to university happenings as a means of keeping the community involved and aware.  Still, the concept goes so much further, and with SO much more possibility.  The link connects to the popular site "MarketWatch", which is a chapter of The WallStreet Journal specific to digital content.  The article details the growing buisness of RSS use both for internal and external customers as a means of business growth.

Specifically, the collaborative needs of Telcordia and others for cloud based applications and feed technologies yet to come.  The opportunities are endless with the use of feeds!

RSS Feed RUSH of Info!

Yikes!  News and info overload has become the name of the game via subscription to RSS feeds via Google Reader.  I've learned of news posts and updates to sites that I skim occasionally over the last several days, and can honestly say that before these subscriptions, I wasn't getting even half of this information. Unfortunately, it is quick to become overwhelmed with the information, and to go back to skimming the information just as you previously did.  I received some postings that were more generic than I would have preferred, and others that I didn't expect at all.  It will certainly take some getting used to!

For now, I think I'll become an addict of information....if I wasn't one already!

Boo! - 80's Style

World Wide....Home!

It becomes easy via the web to look so broad that you forget what may be happening at home. The site listed below is a near daily stop for me, and one I encourage everyone to find an equivalency to!  My children attend school through Washington Local, and I find the information and data sharing on their site to be critical to my ability to be an active, engaged parent and citizen within the district!

A Creative Mind Is An Active One!

Creativity in the mind is only one aspect of my strongest beliefs regarding the internet. Additionally, keeping educated about political activism and empowerment of peoples overall, to me is among the strongest uses of the internet. The site listed below offers political driven information and news without the spin of mass media and corporate ownership.  It is one of my web favorites...

A favorite place to share your creative mind....

Among the favorite places I visit on the web, the link below allows users to post their own creative writing opportunity, perhaps even after being ignored by big publishers.  I believe this opportunity to find audience, and perhaps encouragement of your own free thinking and expression is one of the cores for which the internet has altered a generation....

All about me...

As a non-traditional student finishing my undergraduate degree, the concept of a blog, a place to share ideas, thoughts, and perspectives intrigues me greatly!  I welcome anyone/everyone willing to collaborate on viewpoints and ideas that will help all of us to continue learning both about this medium, communication, and perhaps a bit about ourselves!

I am a healthcare administrative professional eager to identify ways by which mediums such as blogging and podcasting can help to bridge gaps among members of the profession, and perhaps help to make improvements for patients, employees, and consumers overall.

I look forward to using these posts as a springboard for thought and conversation, and to welcome those who may add their views for the benefit of anyone willing to read....
